Myanmar Project History

encounter with Myanmar

Mr. Tin Maung Oo who is friend of adviser, Mr. Ebashi leads JUNKO Association to Mynmar.
Letpadan is small town in Bago district, and it is Mr, Tin Maung Oo's hometown. It takes about 4 hours from capital, Yangon. He went to Letpadan No.1 Basic Education High school. At this school, about 120 students of 8 grade study in a class. Students by 40 people study in looking different way, and teacher is only one. We think it is unfavorable for study. Until now, he contributes computers for school for eager students to study by his private fund.

He talked to Mr. Ebashi about idea that he wants to rebuild schoolhouse, and Mr. Ebashi suggest that JUNKO Association should join his idea. We JUNKO Association decided to donate rebuild cost in March 2000.

cultural exchange

By donation, Mr. Tin Maung Oo and school teachers request for us to do cultural exchange with students, because most of students don't see foreigner and know other country culture. They want students to know other country and have open eyes. They want JUNKO Association lead new air to Letpadan. We want to treasure the encounter and we start cultural exchange with students in Letpadan.
